We are seeking to hire a OPS Senior Human Service Program Specialist who desires to work to enhance the delivery of health care services through the Florida Medicaid Program. This position requires a candidate who is creative, flexible, innovative, and who will thrive in a fast-paced, team based work environment.

 

This position is located in the Bureau of Medicaid Recipient and Provider Assistance (RPA). RPA serves as a primary point of contact for enrolled Medicaid providers, Medicaid recipients, and members of the community with questions and concerns about Medicaid.

 

This position is responsible for researching and responding to Medicaid issues, concerns, and complaints and with assisting Medicaid recipients and providers with navigating the Medicaid healthcare system.

 

Travel will be 1-25%

Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

  • Skill in reviewing, correcting and synopsizing written grammar.
  • Skill in understanding and applying applicable Medicaid rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Skill in utilizing different types of technologies to find/access information, including (but not limited to); basic Computer Software Programs, web-based resources and supporting tools.
  • Skill in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

  • Three years of professional experience in social, economic, health or rehabilitative programs or health insurance as documented on the application and/or resume.
  • Two years of experience researching and resolving customer issues and complaints as documented on the application and/or resume.
  • One year of Microsoft Excel or similar software experience as documented on the application and/or resume and subject to basic skills test.

 

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Public Administration, Health Services Administration, or Human Services may substitute for one year of the required professional experience.

 

Preference will be given to applicants with experience in resolving issues and complaints in a health and/or human services field as documented on the application and/or resume. Preference will be given to applicants with experience working with difficult customers and diffusing potentially volatile situations as documented on the application and/or resume. Preference will be given to applicants with direct Florida Medicaid experience, as documented on the employment application and/or resume.
