This is a full-time position (40 hours per week).

 

The primary function of this Registered Nurse Consultant position is to serve as a preceptor for surveyors through planning, developing, implementing, evaluating, and monitoring ongoing training programs. The incumbent will be responsible for motivating, and coaching employees on various survey processes.

 

The incumbent will also be required to perform survey activities, either as an individual, a team member or a team leader.

 

This position is required to successfully complete the Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test within the first 12 months of employment as required by Sections 1819(g)(2)(c)(ii) of the Social Security Act, as amended, and Article IV(B) of the Agreement pursuant to Section 1864 of the Social Security Act.

 

This position may require extensive travel, including overnight stays.

 

The incumbent must be able to work before and after normal work hours, including occasional weekends and holidays.

 

Proficiency with Microsoft programs, smart phones and a laptop is a necessity.

 

Successful completion of a criminal background investigation is a condition of employment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

-Knowledge of the principles and practices of health care management.

-Knowledge of health care facilities and operations.

-Skill in the use of computer equipment and software to enter, retrieve, and manipulate data required to perform work functions.

-Ability to utilize problem solving skills.

-Ability to interpret rules, regulations, laws, and guidelines relating to health care administration.

-Ability to prepare training/meeting agendas and materials.

-Ability to supervise and manage employees.

-Ability to determine work priorities, assign work, and ensure proper completion of work assignments.

-Ability to prepare and review reports.

Ability to travel, with or without accommodations.

-Ability to lift a laptop/ tablet computer and work manuals, with or without accommodations.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in accordance with Florida Statute 464 and four years of professional nursing experience.
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in nursing can substitute for one year of the required general professional nursing experience.
  • A master's degree from an accredited college or university in nursing can substitute for two years of the required general professional nursing experience.

  • Licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in accordance with Florida Statute 464.
