OPS Employment Security Representative II
This position will be used for multiple vacancies.
OPEN COMPETITIVE
Your Specific Responsibilities:
- Ensure full compliance with state, federal, or local policy by entering staff assisted service codes, case notes and uploading customer documents to the document management system.
- Assess customers’ needs to determine the eligibility of applicants and provide referrals to services such as, Migrant Seasonal Farm Workers (MSFW), Veteran Employment Services, Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA), Welfare Transition (WT), Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Federal Bonding, and other initiatives.
- Assist with Re-Employment Services and Eligibility Assessment (RESEA) by printing and emailing letters, making initial contact by telephone, follow-ups and resulting of events in EmployFlorida.
- Assist with registration at job fairs, hiring events, center orientation, schedule and confirm initial appointments, and updating Team outlook calendars.
- Assist with employability workshop bookings and update employability workshop calendar on the website.
- Instruct job seekers one-on-one or in group settings by conducting employability skill workshops on presenting a positive image, provide information on ow to effectively access job openings, completing applications, resume assistance, interviewing and networking techniques, etc.
- Assist customers in the Resource Room with completing a full registration on EmployFlorida website to include background, resume, virtual recruiter, and recording Wagner-Peyser service codes and case notes.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must be proficient in the Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of the methods of data collection.
- Knowledge of the principles of techniques of effective customer service and the ability to provide excellent customer service.
- Knowledge of EmployFlorida and other web based self-help products.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in individual and group settings, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Ability to deal with the public tactful, courteous, and in an effective manner.
- Ability to record, collect, evaluate and analyze data,
- Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment.
- Ability to read, write and understand reports, documents, and other written materials.
- Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.
- Ability to work effectively as part of an inter-organizational team.
Qualifications:
As a condition of pre-employment eligibility, a Level 2 security background screening is required, which consists of fingerprinting and a check of local, state, and national law enforcement records.
Minimum:
- Successful completion of the Florida Certified Workforce Professional Tier 1 training within 6 months of hire.
- Duties and responsibilities of this position must be performed at the official work site of Florida Commerce.
- Travel may be required to travel.
Preferred:
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and/or ;
- A minimum of 2 to 3 years of customer service experience in areas related to employment security: such as sales, marketing, interviewing, counseling, job placement, aptitude testing and assessments, job development, or job analysis may substitute on a year for year basis.

The Work You Will Do:
The OPS Employment Security Representative II is a professional position that provides specialized employment services to individuals needing more complex assistance. You will be responsible for prioritizing work demands with a focus on customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for the registration tables at all hiring events to ensure that job seekers are fully registered and have been provided with a triggering participation service code. You will ensure that all services provided are adequately documented in EmployFlorida and make certain job seekers understand all services provided by CareerSource Southwest Florida.
