This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Circuit 20-0 Ft. Myers.
The mission of the Administrative Assistant I is to provide exceptional administrative support to the Circuit Administrator and Deputy Circuit Administrator by efficiently managing communications, maintaining organized schedules, and ensuring accurate documentation. We are committed to delivering high-quality information analysis, budget monitoring, and resource coordination to facilitate informed decision-making and uphold the highest standards of operational excellence.
This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.
JOB DUTIES:
- Records, transcribes, and distributes meeting minutes; drafts standard operating procedures and administrative documents for review.
- Manages a multi-line telephone system, handles correspondence, and provides technical assistance to the Circuit Administrator.
- Maintains the calendar of events for the Circuit Administrator and Deputy Circuit Administrator, including training, meetings, and field visits.
- Compiles and analyzes information for administrative recommendations, prepares quality management tools, and monitors budget expenditures.
- Interacts with the public and field offices in the absence of the Circuit Administrator, compiles data for reports, and coordinates office supply procurement.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Must Possess a High School Diploma or its equivalent.
- Must possess at least two years` of professional or nonprofessional experience in parole, probation sworn law enforcement, public investigations, clemency, victim services work or corrections work.
Support of knowledge, skills, and abilities should be demonstrated on the application, in the education, in the work experience, in the work sample, in the interview and/or during reference checks.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT
The Florida Department of Corrections requires all job applicants and volunteers to pass a Level 2 background check as per Chapter 435, Florida Statutes. This check must be completed before they can start working or volunteering.
