Criminal Conflict and Civil Regional Counsel, 2nd Region

Job Description:

This position provides application and database functions to include but not limited in reviewing, analyzing, and modifying programming systems to support the agency business applications.

Application Development:

  • Involved in the whole software lifecycle of an application which includes requirement gathering, analysis, design, development, testing and implementation.
  • Generates reports per user requirements.
  • Analyzes user requirements and suggest better practices to improve the application.
  • Enhances and upgrades the existing applications based on user requirements.
  • Manages maintenance of existing applications.
  • Designs, creates and implements new applications.
  • Assists in unit, black-box, integrations, system and acceptance testing of an application.
  • Works on all layers of the three-tiered architecture, which involves a client, application server, and database server.
  • Initiates deployment of applications to test and production.
  • Works with various servers as needed.
  • Multitasks on various applications based on priority and need.
  • Researches internet in order to find solutions to problems and also to find out a better way to do a particular task.
  • Continuous learning and research (internet and books) on new technologies, plug-ins, etc. so as to develop a better, efficient and robust system.

Database Development:

  • Creates tables, queries, functions, stored procedures, etc. as needed by applications to extract or insert data to or from the application.
  • Monitors the database jobs, run jobs when needed.
  • Handles database size issues when needed.
  • Interacts with user requests like change cases, line items or any other database data requests that user cannot perform through application interface.
  • Works on exporting and importing data to and from database from other sources.
  • Uploads different transactions to Flair via FTP server.
  • Extracts data from tables based on user requests.
  • Interacts with users to analyze and find solution to their problems.
  • Interacts with users to understand the process better so as to improve efficiency in the applications that are built.
  • Helps users to understand the system better so as to make the system work efficiently.

Knowledge, skills and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position:

  • Knowledge of and ability to design, maintain and alter Sequel Server databases including the use of SQL (Structured Query Language)
  • Knowledge of standard programming languages, concepts, practices, and procedures within the technology field, specifically including but not limited to C++ C#, Java Script, HTML

Other job-related requirements for this position: 

  • Involve in the whole software lifecycle of a client and Web applications which includes requirement gathering, analysis, design, development, testing and implementation. Required expertise expected to be focused on ASP.NET, C#, HTML and SQL. Development station: Visual Studio Express 2013
  • Support FLRC2 web site by updating existing functions and adding new functionality: provide help to HR, IT, financial office, support informational pages like phone and mail directories, press releases, advertising, etc. Windows server, HTML, ASP.NET, Web Forms, code behind (C#), SQL database.
  • Support custom purpose-oriented systems (like Due Process, Conflicts), mostly online, with minimal client-side involvement. Works on all layers of the three-tiered architecture, which involves a client, application server and database server. Use C++, C#, Web Forms, SQL.
