POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is in the Cyber Technology and Telecommunications Division. This is a full-time position that works with closely regional Cyber/ESST members to oversee the management of FDLE’s technical resources. This position routinely provides guidance to the Cyber/ESST members as well as research emerging state of the art equipment. This position also oversees the management of FDLE’s intercept system. This system provides intercept support to all FDLE as well as to various state, local, and federal partner agencies. 

 

SPECIAL NOTE:

This position may be filled in one of the following regions: Fort Myers, Pensacola, Jacksonville, Miami, Orlando, Tallahassee, and Tampa Bay.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties include:

  • Overseeing, coordinating, and supporting FDLE’s Cyber Technology & Telecommunications Division by developing and maintaining policies and procedures relevant to the needs of statewide and regional technical sections;
  • Coordinating and Facilitating Statewide training and equipment for Cyber and ESST squads;
  • Displaying knowledge, skills and ability to perform job, such as: providing guidance to Cyber and ESST squads on, procedure, conducting interviews, executing search warrants, Florida Cyber-crime statutes, making arrests, etc.;
  • Overseeing and managing FDLE’s technical equipment and resources;  
  • Ensuring effective and efficient use of technical resources and managing statewide allocation of technical equipment;
  • Participating in the discussion, development, revision, implementation, and follow-up of Program initiatives through meetings, conferences, and other forums with regional technical agents, managers, and Command Staff;
  • Managing grants, purchasing and other financial functions related to Statewide and regional technical sections.  Developing, managing and allocating operational budget for investigative technology issues;
  • Developing, implementing and oversight of strategic plans for future direction and expansion of the agency’s statewide technical investigations and Cyber and ESST programs, to include both human and technology resource requirements; and
  • Preparing memoranda, exhibits, reports, and other documents in support of the duties and responsibilities cited herein. Prepare memoranda and correspondence for both internal and external matters.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Ability to manage full time law enforcement technical/cyber services;
  • Knowledge in the maintenance and lawful deployment of technical surveillance equipment;
  • Ability to perform presentations and instructions;
  • Ability to lead and manage the technical cyber section;
  • Knowledge in covert audio/video equipment to include surveillance platforms, IP cameras, basic network skills, covert audio/video devices, GPS tracking devices, managing and configuring intercept systems (wire, PRTT, social media, etc.), and wireless and MESH networking devices; and
  • Ability to set up covert undercover networks, network architecture, wireless protocols and network storage devices.

BASE SALARY:

  • $ 65,714.00

 

SPECIAL NOTE:

Starting salary will be offered based on specific work experience, education, and training, unless otherwise dictated by FDLE’s pay policy.   

Preference will be given to members with experience in managing and configuring FDLE’s wire intercept system, CSS equipment, video management systems, and covert audio/video deployments.
