*This is a part-time Other Personnel Service (OPS) Senior Clerk position working 25 to 29 hours per week with the Department of Health in Lee County.*
The incumbent of this position provides clerical administrative support to DOH-Lee Women, Infants and Children Program. Complies with all WIC and DOH policies, operating procedures and directives, in accordance with DHM 150-24. This position may serve clients that speak only Spanish, Creole, or other languages. It may require performance of interpreter duties if bi-lingual, or implementation of the Department’s Limited English Proficiency Plan. This is a record specialist position which provides clinic site support for the WIC department.
ADMINISTRATIVE:
Responsible for completing the required steps for the following administrative reports for the agency:
- Missing Blood Work Report
- Anthropometrics Pending Report
- Expiring Short Certification Report
- Clients Pending Report
- Clients Eligible for Benefits, no future appointments.
CLERICAL:
Answers incoming phone calls in a professional manner to schedule appointments in the FL-Wise System, provide information, or forward calls. Instructs participants on redemption procedures, rights and obligations, program procedures, vendor/participant concerns. Provides information to the public regarding the WIC Program, classes and/or other program events. Provides information on community assistance agencies.
BREASTFEEDING:
Protect, promote and support breastfeeding. Refer client to appropriate site for breastfeeding information, concerns and/or breast pump loan.
ADMINISTRATION:
Meets deadline for submission of EAR’S, timesheets, mileage vouchers, and other items requested. Attends staff meetings and in-service training programs. Participates in on-going training activities with the local agency.
Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possess a valid driver’s license and have a reliable vehicle to carry out these duties.
- Ability to answer telephone calls, forward calls, take messages and schedule appointments.
- Skilled in operating a personal computer.
