Position Summary

This is a regional position that has responsibility for reviewing all new residential facility licensure applications received and process within required timeframes. This position is also responsible for conducting on-site initial licensing visits to ensure the prospective group home is in compliance with F.S. 65G-2 and other applicable rules prior to issuance of a new facility license.

 

The Work You Will Do 

  • Receives new licensing application and review for completeness. Review the iConnect prospective applicant queue for pending licensing application requests. Responsible to vet, promote, reject, or close the application within a timely manner. Approve or deny the completed application within 90 days of receipt of a complete application in compliance with F.S. 65G-2 and 120.60.

 

 

  • Complete the Florida Safe Family Network (FSFN) search for each licensing application received and update the iConnect record. Ensure that the licensee or applicant has provided documentation to verify that the licensee or application has checked the FDLE sex offender/ predator database to determine if there are any registrants within a one-mile radius of the licensed/proposed licensed home.

 

  • Create and update all licensing information in APD systems including GRID and APD iConnect. Ensure GRID is updated after finalization of each new facility licensure.

 

  • Conduct monitoring visits for each home with residents using the Residential Monitoring Checklist. Conduct a quarterly monitoring onsite visit for each licensed home with no residents using the Residential Monitoring Checklist.

 

  • Ensure that all personnel records are reviewed prior to initial licensure and annually as part of the license renewal process using the Personnel Record Checklist.

 

  • If the home is applying to be licensed to serve individuals with mobility issues, verify at time of initial site visit or renewal site visit that the home meets the accessibility needs of the current residents.

 

  • Document deficiencies noted in the applicant’s documentation or observance during the site visit in writing.

 

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Highschool Diploma or its equivalent

 

  • Experience with monitoring or conducting quality assurance activities.

 

  • Valid Driver’s License or other efficient means of transportation to travel to community locations to conduct monitoring and licensing visits.

 

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities 

Knowledge of:

  • Licensing requirements for residential group homes

 

Knowledge of and ability to:

  • Use Microsoft Office Programs

 

Knowledge of and experience in:

  • Ensuring compliance with state rules and regulations.

 

Ability to:

  • Travel for work purposes.

Direct Deposit Program

As a condition of employment, a person appointed to a position in the State Personnel System is required to participate in the Direct Deposit Program.  Rather than receiving a paper paycheck, your funds will be deposited directly into your account at your financial institution. This will be accomplished by Electronic Funds Transfer. Banks, savings and loan associations, and credit unions are eligible to accept such deposits. Retirement funds are also required to be in the Direct Deposit Program.

Background Screening Requirement

It is the policy of the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities that applicants for employment undergo Level 2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.
