REQUIRED ENTRY-LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

The State Attorney’s Office for the 20th Judicial Circuit is currently seeking eager entry-level misdemeanor attorneys to join our criminal justice team. The 20th Judicial Circuit serves Charlotte, Collier, Glades, Hendry, and Lee Counties. Our Assistant State Attorneys are responsible for representing the State of Florida by prosecuting criminal offenses. Applicants must be a member of the Florida Bar in good standing or seeking membership. Entry-level annual salary is $50,000 and includes State of Florida employee retirement, health insurance options, attorney benefits, CLE opportunities, paid holidays, and leave.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

Attorney responsibilities include, but not limited to; trial work, preparation of legal documents, legal research, reviewing warrants, depositions and interviewing witnesses, victims and other parties. Duties of the position require professional interaction with the public, office staff, law enforcement, private bar and defense counsel.

DESIRABLE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

The position requires proficient management of detailed casework and the ability to use office computer software and equipment (training provided). Applicant must have knowledge and ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
