EMPLOYMENT SECURITY REPRESENTATIVE I

ANTICIPATED VACANCY

 

Your Specific Responsibilities:

This is a responsible professional position involved in working with career seekers within a One Stop Career Center.

 

Provide Orientation on Workforce services and information on center programs, partners, available resources, and services.

 

Provides assistance to career seekers who are in need of additional program services to include assistance with resume preparation, job search assistance, skills testing, etc.

 

Screen and refer career seekers to job openings, provide information on training opportunities, labor market information, career information and other related services.  Provide information and engage clients in order to determine appropriate needs, partner programs and other agencies for supportive services available in the local workforce area.  Make referrals to these services as necessary.

 

Manage the Career Center’s Pending Referrals List and ensure results are recorded within 48 hours.

 

Refer clients to appropriate programs and/or services, administration of basic skills and other skills tests in order to qualify clients for referral to job orders, etc.

 

Perform other related duties as required in a “seamless” service delivery area including branch office, itinerant location or out stationed sites.

 

Source candidate and conducts follow-up on job orders.       

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

  • Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective customer service.
  • Knowledge of the basic principles of case management.
  • Working knowledge/proficient in using Microsoft applications.
  • Ability to promote and market Career Center services.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in individual and group settings, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service.
  • Ability to conduct effective interviews.
  • Ability to listen effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to work independently by planning, organizing and coordinating work assignment.

 

Qualifications:

As a condition of pre-employment eligibility, a Level 2 security background screening is required, which consists of fingerprinting and a check of local, state, and national law enforcement records. 

 

Other job-related requirements for this position: 

 

  • Must become certified as a Workforce Development Professional (Tier 1) within one (1) year of appointment 
  • Required to travel within the LWDA and must furnish own transportation.

Generally, travel requirements of less than 25%. Travel to multiple worksites and occasional out-of-town travel to attend standard trainings that may be local, in state or out of state. Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, auto insurance and be insurable under the CSRC policy.

 

Working hours: (A) Daily from 8:00am to 5:00pm   (B) Total hours in work week: 40     (C) Explain any variation in work (split, shift, rotation, etc.) Hours and schedules may vary with supervisor’s approval.

 

Pay:  Minimum Starting salary:  $40,000.00
