Special note: This is a part-time administrative position (29 hrs.) working with the Sealant Based School Program at St. Lucie County with Department of Health
Your Specific Responsibilities:
The incumbent will assist the dental program coordinator and the hygienist in the schools as needed. Works closely with school/day care staff to facilitate the services provided to the schools/childcare centers.
Assists with the agency’s participation in community and outreach events including, but not limited to, resource fairs, community outreach, program recognition events, and other special activities; assist with partnership and fund development programs in coordination with the school board and childcare centers; creation of action and event plans for various dental activities.
Perform other related duties such as maintaining organized files, data entry, scanning, verify insurance eligibility, communications with clients and assist the Hygienist as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Prepare correspondence or follow up with parent/guardians. This position will require travel within the St Lucie County.
Registers, verifies, and inputs all pertinent client information in all systems modules: Client Registration, Family Financial, Insurance Information, and records CSR’s with accuracy. Utilize plans web portals to verify members’ enrollment and eligibility. Maintain client confidentiality and security of medical records in accordance with HIPAA and Information Security Act. Working knowledge operating photocopy machine, calculators, cash register, computer, printers, scanners, and all related equipment required by position. Utilize Microsoft Office applications, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Answers the telephone, schedule client appointments, reschedules and /or follows up calls. Register and maintains client record in computer data file and dental record. Assists with insurance verification and data entry of services in Dentrix and HMS. Assists the dental hygienist in the schools as needed. Works closely with school/day care staff to facilitate the services provided to the schools/day cares. Assist with community events.
Performs other related duties as required and serves as back up for the Program coordinator.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Ability to organize and maintain confidential and sensitive materials.
- Ability to determine work priorities and ensure completion of assignments.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Driver’s license, if out of state a valid, Florida Driver's License is required within 30 days of hire
- Incumbent may be required to work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. Emergency duty required of the incumbent includes working in special needs or Red Cross shelters, or performing other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural.
Preferred:
- 1-3 years of office/data entry experience.
