Your Specific Responsibilities:
Always promotes “patient first” by providing excellent customer service. Emphasis placed on all incoming calls to be always answered promptly and courteously. Effective listening skills and knowledge of how to handle any customer complaints and how to address their concerns is of the utmost importance. Understanding of the process for securing translation assistance for clients or provide translation if bilingual. Primary duties are as follows: answering telephone, schedule and rescheduling clients’ appointments while verifying payer source. Explain the no show policy if clients miss appointments. Monitors the schedule to ensure the patient’s wait time is minimized whenever possible and attempt to fill appointments available on the schedule. Medicaid HMO or third-party insurance billing recent experience a plus. This is a full-time, in-office position
Registers and maintains client records in HMS system and Electronic Records in the dental software with accuracy and within compliance. Research client demographic information and updates their information for each visit. Interview and verify eligibility requirements for client services. Educate clients on how all established and calculated fee schedules are computed. Verify authorizations for Medicaid reimbursement. Determine financial eligibility and collect payments. Documents all client’s third-party insurance into the financial data file, maximizing revenue collections. All data reviewed for accuracy and completeness. Organizes and maintains records, filing systems and inventories.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Adheres to all administrative and clerical policies and procedures set forth within the department. Knowledge of EARS, HMS, Microsoft Office: Word, Email, People First System and TRAIN. Trains other employees as needed. Complete all reports: employee activity records, timesheets, and all required reports according to policy and procedure within their required timeframe. Must possess the ability to be able to prioritize work assignments.
Calculates and verifies daily/monthly reports for Business Office/Administration. Maintains HIPAA and client confidentiality and security of medical records in accordance with SLCHD Security Procedure 13, 1.B. Level 2: “Clinical Confidentiality”.
Operates photocopying machines, calculators, scanners, computers, printers, and any other related equipment within stated guidelines.
Performs related work as required. Submits travel, invoices or receives in MFMP in accordance to FS 215.422 prompt payment statute.
Basic math skills including, addition, subtraction, multiplication, divisiton.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
Customer service experience in an office setting.

Bilingual
Experience working at a dental office in reception/scheduling
