Job Title: IT Director

We are seeking an innovative and strategic individual to lead our technology operations and ensure the secure, efficient, and modern delivery of digital services across our offices.
Position Overview
The IT Director oversees all information technology functions within the Public Defender’s Office, including systems Administration, infrastructure management, cybersecurity, case management systems, digital evidence handling, and end-user support. This role requires a leader who can align technology strategy with the mission of public defense—supporting attorneys and staff with reliable, secure, and accessible systems that enhance client advocacy.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage IT staff, contractors, and vendors to ensure reliable, secure technology services.
- Oversee network infrastructure, data storage, and cloud systems.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal information security and privacy regulations.
- Support and optimize case management and document management systems and digital evidence platforms.
- Develop technology policies, procedures, and training programs for staff.
- Prepare and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective use of public resources.
- Collaborate with other justice system agencies and state IT departments to coordinate technology initiatives.
Qualifications
Required:
- 5 years’ work experience in Computer Science, or related field.
- 3+ years of progressive IT management experience.
- Experience with network and system administration, cybersecurity, and cloud-based environments.
- Proven success managing IT projects and leading technical teams.
- Strong understanding of data security, privacy, and compliance in a public-sector or legal environment.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred:
- Experience in a criminal justice, legal services, or government setting.
- Knowledge of case management systems (SQL) and reporting applications.
