Florida Department of Children & Families – Office of Economic Self-Sufficiency

DESCRIPTION:  This is administrative work assigned to Office of Economic Self Sufficiency (OESS) assisting a Program Administrator in the operations of a Service Center.  This employee independently researches and gathers data and prepares reports including handling of significant clerical details and duties that may require the ability to apply technical knowledge to clerical functions.  Specialized functions include performing duties related to building operations for the Service Center and purchasing of supplies via MyFloridaMarketplace.  Word processing skills are essential to perform the duties of this job.

 

SALARY:   $33,760.00 annually. Internal salary appointments are determined according to DCF Salary policy.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Three years of secretarial or clerical work experience in a social service environment preferred but not necessary.  Data Entry, word processing, Excel, and ability to communicate and work well with others is essential. 

 

 Preference will be given to individuals with:

 

  • Familiarity with ACCESS Program practices and procedures;
  • Experience working with the F.L.O.R.I.D.A. System;
  • Work Experience in the use of MS Work and Excel; 
  • Experience preparing travel vouchers;
  • Familiarity with MyFloridaMarketplace;
  • Must be able to multi-task; meet deadlines and have strong organizational & follow-up skills.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Assisting the Program Administrator with administrative needs, i.e., scheduling and setting up rooms for meetings, taking minutes, etc.
  • Receives, reviews, date stamps and distributes all incoming mail and dispenses outgoing mail on a daily basis
  • Independently researches, gathers data and prepares reports
  • Tracks assignments to ensure completion by deadline
  • Ensures forms and office supplies are ordered and maintained
  • Assists customers when they call or refers them to the appropriate department timely
