Your Specific Responsibilities:

This position administers complex technical Reemployment Assistance program functions.  This is a highly responsible position requiring extensive knowledge of Reemployment Assistance law and department procedures relating to the Reemployment Assistance program.  The person in this position will be responsible for providing instructions and taking necessary actions.  The performance of these functions and their coordination is required for consistency and efficiency of operations.  This is professional work requiring not only extensive knowledge of the Reemployment Assistance law, rules, policies, and procedures, but also the ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments and work cooperatively with others.

 

Supervisory employees are those who spend the majority of their time communicating with, motivating, training, and evaluating employees, and planning and directing employees’ work, and who have the authority to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, or discipline subordinate employees or effectively recommend such action, including all employees serving as supervisors, administrators, and directors.

 

Supervises and assists subordinates with the resolution of the more difficult or unusual programmatic and technical problems and coordinates unit activities in connection to initial claims, adjudication, and responses to a large volume of inquiries relating to the Reemployment Assistance program.  Motivates, trains, and evaluates associates.  Responsible for authorization of leave and attendance records.  Prepares position descriptions, performance appraisals, and procedural changes due to changes in the work of the unit, the Reemployment Assistance law and department rules.

 

Works with representatives from other program areas as needed to resolve issues relating to the Reemployment Assistance.  Identifies and analyzes problem areas and recommends any changes needed to improve and streamline existing procedures.

 

Supervises and coordinates unit activities relating to specialized work assignments and other related work as required including the preparation of reports, project analysis and correspondence.  Prioritizes work and delegates responsibility of assignments to ensure accuracy, efficiency and completion of work by deadlines.  Randomly reviews and evaluates sub-unit work to determine if all work is in compliance with established standards.

 

Attends, conducts, organizes and/or participates in workshops, studies, conferences, and staff meetings. 

 

Performs other related duties as required.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of management and supervision.
  • Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis. 
  • Knowledge of reemployment assistance law, rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of basic public relations principles.
  • Ability to manage a reemployment assistance program.
  • Ability to supervise people.
  • Ability to determine work priorities, assign work, and ensure proper completion of work assignments.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, policies, and procedures relating to management of a reemployment assistance program.
  • Ability to assess budgetary needs.
  • Ability to formulate policies and procedures.
  • Ability to collect and analyze data relating to the management of a reemployment assistance program.
  • Ability to deal with the public in a courteous, tactful, and effective manner.
  • Ability to prepare reports relating to a reemployment assistance program.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to solve problems and make decisions.
  • Ability to develop training materials and train others.

 

Qualifications:

As a condition of pre-employment eligibility, a Level 2 security background screening is required, which consists of fingerprinting and a check of local, state, and national law enforcement records. 

 

Minimum:

  • Duties and responsibilities of this position must be performed at the official work site of the Department.
  • Travel may be required to travel.

Preferred:

  • Have at least 6 months of experiences in Reemployment Assistance and/or Workforce Services.
  • Have at least 1 year experience working in a supervisory or leadership role that involves mentorship, coaching, and training team members.

Pay:   $41,561.57 annually - Firm
