SALARY RANGE
$54,000.00 - $60,851.00 Annually $2,076.92 - $2,340.42 Bi-weekly
Position Summary
This position is responsible for spending the majority of their time supervising, communicating with, motivating, training, and evaluating employees, and planning and directing employees’ work, and who have the authority to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, or discipline subordinate employees or effectively recommend such action.
The Work You Will Do
Monitors workflow and ensuring deadlines are met, as well as ensuring full compliance with pertinent chapters and sections of Florida Statutes, Florida Administrative Code, and Agency Policies and Procedures. Works with individuals and families with regards to intake and eligibility determination, pre- enrollment case management, working with service providers ensuring compliance with supported employment and supported living activities, and establishing and maintain community contacts and networking for the Region. Assists the Regional Program Administrator in completing ad hoc reports and in completing assignments.
Provides leadership and direction to develop and maintain a well-motivated, productive work force, by facilitating staff development through training opportunities and fair equitable application of department personnel practices.
Oversee intake and eligibility processes, facilitate integrated case coordination between service units to ensure comprehensive delivery of services through available community resources. Oversee pre-enrollment management.
Provide oversight and coordination of all crisis tool activity.
Assist in the authorization of Individual and Family Supports funds in accordance with budgetary requirements and applicable laws and rules.
Oversee the implementations of strategic initiative to increase employment opportunities for Agency clients.
Provide oversight of Supported Living services in applicable with Florida policies and procedures.
Collaborate across the Region to enhance strategic partnerships with other state agencies and other external partners to benefit the clients of APD. Participates in meetings, conferences, forums, within the department and community outreach. Develops and maintains effective working relationships with other departmental administrators and sister agencies.
Participate in emergency planning and response.
Meets Region specific projects and assignments timeline from State Office, Regional Operations Manager, and Deputy Regional Operations Manager.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or its equivalent.
- Valid Driver’s License or other efficient means of transportation and willing to travel for work purposes.
- Four years of related professional experience.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Knowledge of:
- Use Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).
- Use APD iConnect to complete business processes.
- Methods of compiling, organizing, and analyzing data for the purpose of monitoring and evaluating staff.
- Structure and content of the English language, including meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Ability to:
- Provide responsive customer service.
- Work with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Multi- task effectively.
- Tracking systems to monitor and complete work assignments within required timeframes.
- Communicate effectively, orally and in writing, and the ability to prepare reports.

As a condition of employment, a person appointed to a position in the State Personnel System is required to participate in the Direct Deposit Program. Rather than receiving a paper paycheck, your funds will be deposited directly into your account at your financial institution. This will be accomplished by Electronic Funds Transfer. Banks, savings and loan associations, and credit unions are eligible to accept such deposits. Retirement funds are also required to be in the Direct Deposit Program.
Background Screening Requirement
It is the policy of the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities that applicants for employment undergo Level 2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.
