The Work You Will Do:
District Training & Development Coordinator / District Four / Transportation Support / Organizational Development
This position will serve in support of the District’s training program to include planning, scheduling, delivery and accurate record keeping. This position also provides employees and leadership with guidance for developing, implementing and reporting training/educational, performance management, operational and /or business plans.

Annual Salary Range:
$47,254.57 - $61,152.98
A Competitive Area Differential (CAD) additive in the amount of $1,248.00 will be added to the annual salary.
Your Specific Responsibilities:
Serve in support of the District's training program to include planning, scheduling, delivery and accurate record keeping. Prepare for and deliver various Florida Department of Transportation training programs through basic Train-the-Trainer sessions and other knowledge sharing opportunities to support Instructor Led Training courses. Disseminate accurate information relating to upcoming training and development opportunities, attend scheduled training providers meetings to determine training needs and availability, develop annual training calendars and coordinate resources to ensure efficient delivery of training in support of the Employee Development Review process. Develop and coordinate training program materials.
Provide employees and leadership with guidance for developing, implementing and reporting training/educational, performance management, operational and/or business plans. Conduct focus groups, document data and produce reports and feedback summaries to ensure successful achievement of statewide goals and objectives. Participate in statewide and District task teams, occasionally serve as a representative of management at various meetings and make recommendations to improve performance management and efficiency in the administration and operation of the agency.
Research and analyze training needs and validate customer requirements, identify opportunities for improvement and design, develop, implement and assess appropriate training and employee development programs in coordination with the Central Office Training Management Unit and other Districts. Coordinate procurement process for contracts/agreements, internal and external partnerships and other resources to ensure the availability of required and/or requested training. Provide support to Unit Training Coordinators as necessary.
Complete data gathering and research and analysis to make recommendations and provide reports. Support the development and maintenance of communications and media outlets (websites, newsletters, etc.) and corresponding sites relating to budget, training schedules, enrollments and completions, quality assurance compliance and corrective action status and other organizational development efforts for management and customers as requested.
Assist in the implementation of special projects and initiatives related to training, performance management and employee engagement as requested by management. Serve as a consultant, facilitator and/or District contact to support the agency's Learning Management System, strategic planning approach and annual employee survey and other organizational development and training efforts/needs.
The Successful Candidate will have the following required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
- Theories and practices of effective supervision, management, and leadership.
- Quality management, assessment, and analytical process and practices.
- Industry concepts and practices relating to adult learning theories and instructional design.
Skills in:
- Researching, compiling, and analyzing data to report findings and develop improvement solutions.
- Providing presentations, consultations services, and training programs.
- Developing standardized processes and procedures.
- Using Microsoft Suite; including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Producing and organizing supporting materials.
Ability to:
- Prioritize and complete complex work assignments.
- Research, identify, and implement innovative solutions.
- Facilitate and coordinate meetings, workshops, conferences, etc.
- Communicate effectively; both verbally and written.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Use and manage learning management systems.
- Use Microsoft SharePoint.
- Work independently and as a team.
Other Job-Related Requirements:
- Travel to satellite and other statewide locations to prepare, coordinate and deliver training, attend various meetings assigned by leadership and serve as a consultant for other performance management efforts. May require day and overnight travel and non-traditional work schedules.
Minimum Qualifications:
Six (6) years of professional experience in adult training/education, organizational/staff development or application of industry concepts and practices relating to adult learning theories and instructional design. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university may substitute for four (4) years of experience. A master’s degree from an accredited college or university may substitute for six (6) years of experience.
