Transportation Support/D4 Human Resources
This position reports directly to the District Human Resources Manager (DHRM) and is responsible for ensuring the proper and consistent administration of human resources rules, policies and procedures and applicable federal and state laws.

Your Specific Responsibilities:
Assists the DHRM in planning, developing, coordinating and executing the activities, services and programs of the human resources office within the district which includes, but is not limited to classification and pay, employee benefits, recruitment and selection, performance and talent management, unemployment compensation, employee relations, workers’ compensation, retirement, attendance and leave, payroll, human resources reporting and records management. May assist other districts and central office, as needed. Serves as acting DHRM as needed.
Reviews recruitment and selection packages and pay actions for the District to ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules and procedures. Reviews requisitions prior to posting to People First recruitment site. Reviews candidate lists for Veteran's Preference (VP) applicants, follows up as necessary, and notifies hiring manager when VP review is complete. Assists DHRM in reviewing and approving Veteran’s Preference Eligible Applicant packages. Provides technical assistance to hiring managers regarding selection procedures and processes.
Reviews and analyzes classification actions, including add/deletes, reclassifications and update actions. Reviews district position descriptions content for proper allocation. Verifies organizational codes and other required information on position descriptions. Classifies positions using Department of Management Services Guidelines and in coordination with the Central Human Resources Office Classification Team. Prepares staffing charts and organizational charts for units when needed ensuring staffing and organizational charts accurately reflect the proper structure information and complies with Department policy.
Assists the DHRM on all employee relations and personnel administration. Provides, communicates and coordinates information to the DHRM. Assists with investigating disciplinary issues, complaints, and grievances, as needed.
Assist DHRM with creating and maintaining reports related to Human Resources actions. Work on special HR projects.
Assist with administration of the drug testing program for the district and ensure compliance with state and federal drug testing requirements. Monitors and analyzes data relative to drug testing programs. Provides technical assistance to managers and employees regarding the Department’s drug testing and procedures.
Provides assistance to District management staff for Talent Management/Performance Evaluation issues and works with the Central Office Data Team to as necessary.
Coordinates the maintenance of Human Resources files, public records requests, legal requests, and employment verifications with the Central Human Resources Office.
The Successful Candidate will have the following required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
