Overview:
The newly created Florida Gaming Control Commission (“FGCC”) is a five-member commission appointed by the Governor. The FGCC is charged with investigating and enforcing Florida pari-mutuel and gaming statutes and rules.
The FGCC’s Office of Investigation is searching for a dynamic Operations Analyst ll
Position Responsibilities:
The Incumbent, working under the direction of Chief of Investigation, provides support to the FGCC’s Office of Investigation. The Operations Analyst ll duties are as follows:
- The Incumbent will coordinate preparation and tracking of investigative cases, i.e., opening and closing of investigative cases, entry of case information in the division’s databases updating case progress, maintaining the investigation log and the office filing system.
- Also copies files to be sent to the Division Director’s Office and Legal Unit as required, logs and maintains records of all animal death notifications, tracks investigative reports, and analyzes for patterns.
- Maintains multiple databases and spreadsheets to facilitate preparation of a variety of reports.
- Responds to e-mail, public records requests, and telephone calls.
- Other duties may include assisting in preparation of regularly scheduled monthly reports on case activities and performing additional work as assigned by the Chief of Investigations or Investigator Supervisor.
- For the purpose of this advertisement administrative experience is defined as prior experience gained in positions with significant clerical duties involving communication, organization, research, scheduling, and office support skills. This role requires multitasking across a range of responsibilities, including scheduling, receiving and forwarding communications.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to understand and apply applicable Florida Statutes, rules, policies and procedures relating to the pari-mutuel industry.
- Ability to use available office technology including computer software, hardware & data systems, to perform duties.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment.
