The Work You Will Do:
Right-of-Way Agent Trainee- District Four/Department of Transportation Development/Right of Way Production/Production Services
This position will work will real world situations using knowledge and skills introduced in a specially designed series of courses. Success in the program is based on passing courses, completing the required work units, and receiving satisfactory trainee performance ratings.

Annual Salary Range:
$43,041.57 - $55.700.85
A Competitive Area Differential (CAD) additive in the amount of $ 1,248.00 will be added to the annual salary.
Your Specific Responsibilities:
Conduct negotiations with property and business owners. Prepare recommended settlement approval. Assist in performing right of way support which includes Work Program, records and funds management and scheduling. Provide support with consultant selection process and contract administration. Participate in Level II Right of Way Training Program. Attend public meetings/hearings and workshops, and similar forums. Provides property management services for parcel assignments. Provides relocation assistance for assigned parcels. Review invoices. Obtain suit information. Identify and evaluate advance acquisition opportunities. Conduct inspections and inventory of improvements, fixtures and contents of real property. Assist in public records requests and related inquiries. Assist in the development of policies and procedures. Assist in addressing and resolving issues. Ensure data is entered into the Right of Way Management System (RWMS). Participate in Quality Control reviews. Ensure conformance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
The Successful Candidate will have the following required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Skilled in:
- Effective written and oral communications
- The use of personal computers, including a working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software.
Ability to:
- Learn Florida State and local real estate laws and regulations, and real estate appraisal and finance principles and practices.
- Maintain excellent interpersonal relationships.
- Analyze, interpret, and implement appropriate statutory and procedure requirements.
- Effectively plan, organize, and work independently. Ability to make decisions and meet deadlines.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Three (3) years of real estate experience, defined as professional or technical experience in right-of-way administration, land management, abstract and title work, property management, the sale, acquisition, appraisal of real estate or other business experience, such as any role in customer service including retail sales. An associate’s degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for two (2) years of the required experience.
