JOB SUMMARY:
This is a Tax Auditor I position in the General Tax Administration Program, Audit Process. The incumbent performs basic audits to determine tax compliance as it relates to reemployment tax audits. Additional duties include examining and analyzing accounting systems of taxpayers, computing tax assessments or refund adjustments, preparing detailed reports of audit results, and participating in or independently conducting conferences with taxpayers or taxpayers' representatives.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Two years of bookkeeping experience.
SUBSTITUTIONS:
- 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours for the required experience from an accredited college or university with at least two courses in accounting can substitute for the required experience or an Associates degree from an accredited college or university with two accounting classes can substitute for the required experience.
PREFERENCES:
- Experience working with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Two college level accounting classes.
- One year of payroll experience.
- One year of accounting experience that must include tasks such as preparing income statement/PL reports, balance statements, wage reports, budget reports, or QuickBooks reports.
- Presentation or training experience in the college or work setting.
SPECIAL NOTES:
- This position may require travel to conduct work assignments and use of your personal vehicle.
SALARY: The hiring salary for this position will generally not exceed $3,935.76 monthly/$47,229.16 annually.
