Your Specific Responsibilities:

This position provides technical assistance to end users as well as the professional informtion technology staff of the Okaloosa County Health Department (OCHD). This is entry-level work performing tasks under direct supervision.

 

Provide help desk support including but not limited to desktops, printers and peripherals to all users of the network computer system for both hardware and software problems. Receive phone calls and electronic requests for assistance; maintain log system of calls and facilitate resolution. Immediately notify professional information technology staff of major problems and handle other troubles in a time-frame consistent with the urgency of the problem. Assist in the control of user access, establish log-in, clear locked accounts and disable accounts as directed. 

 

Maintain a complete inventory of all hardware and software resources within the agency. Work in cooperation with finance and accounting staff to maintain database of agency equipment. Facilitate the acquisition of property tags and coordinate with assigned staff for approval to disposition surplus of property. 

 

Act as liaison for agency to perform vendor service requests for information technology equipment. 

Participates in trainings and development opportunities to remain current in knowledge of department and agency IT practices.

 

Performs other duties as assigned in support of the agency’s vision and mission.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of general office procedures and practices, correct grammar usage and basic arithmetic.
  • Must have the ability to prepare reports and correspondence, follow instructions, review data for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service in a courteous and efficient manner
  • Knowledge of information technology best practices
  • Experience troubleshooting and working with computer hardware and software
  • Experience working with Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Office Applications

 

Qualifications:

  • Must have valid U.S. Driver’s License
