Your Specific Responsibilities:

This position provides fiscal and administrative support to the Finanance & Accounting Section (F&A) at the Okaloosa County Health Department (OCHD). Duties are performed with strict adherance to OCHD and Florida Department of Health (FDOH) guidelines and pliicies, Florida Statutes, and Florida Administrative Code.

 

Responsible for various accounting duties to include but not limited to the following:

  • Scan, sort, and maintain fiscal records and supporting documentation
  • Extract and compile data from various sources, verify amounts, and resolve discrepancies
  • Post data and verify accuracy of figures
  • Preparation of bank deposit
  • Reconcile daily cash transactions
  • Process accounts payable transactions and Journal Transfers
  • Maintain internal controls
  • Process outgoing mail
  • Extract and post various fiscal reports from the Report Distribution System (RDS)
  • Print vouchers and attach supporting documentation to scan to Axiom Pro for processing

 

Coordinates fleet vehicle reservations, maintains reservation calendar. Verify and reconcile SunPass toll charges. Assist with administrative duties in support of maintenance of vehicle fleet.

 

 

Performs data entry of Healthy Start prenatal screening referrals into the Health Management System (HMS) within established timeframes.

 

Provides backup support for other F&A roles and functions as needed.

 

Performs all other duties as assigned in support of the Agency’s mission and vision.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to manage time and organize and coordinate work assignments
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally using a variety of methods
  • Knowledge of general office equipment and Microsoft Office applications
  • Minimum two years full-time work experience performing data entry
  • Minimum two years full-time work experience providing clerical/administrative support

 

Qualifications:

  • Must maintain a valid U.S. Driver’s License
