FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH - OPEN COMPETITIVE OPPORTUNITY
Your Specific Responsibilities:
This is a high-level accounting position that provides performs various accounting duties including accounts payables. This position reports directly to the Accounting Services Supervisor I - SES in the Business Office.
Performs account payable functions for Alachua CHD to include but not limited to; create, review and approve invoices in MFMP as Exception Handler and Invoice Manager for Alachua including resolving errors and/or DFS deletions and returns. keys transactions 51’s and 70’s for payables into FLAIR. Provides backup support for account payable functions for the consortium CHD’s. Scans documentation to be attached to vouchers. Monitors encumbrance balances and adjusts as necessary. Processes request for duplicate warrants and warrant cancellations. Process salary refunds for Alachua and consortium CHD’s. Key’s TR51 and TR58 corrections as requested. Ensures compliance with DOH prompt payment compliance, account payable processing and cash handling policies and procedures.
Uploads supporting documentation into AXIOM and attaches to vouchers daily. Submits voucher packets to DFS that are pulled for pre-audit. Responds to DFS returns for resolution.
Serves as Accountant role for Alachua CHD P-Cards approvals in WORKS and reviews for correct budget codes and backup documentation. Handles discrepancies for Alachua CHD and approvals for participating Consortium Counties as needed.
Performs year-end Certified Forward process including establish payables, inquiries, corrections and disputes. Keys transactions 53, 80, and 81 as needed. Provide reports and updates on the certified forward process as needed.
Responsible for submission of Ryan White invoices for the county for payment which includes logging, redacting and working with program staff for verification of payment.
Provides backup support for preparation of daily deposit, opening/distributing mail and logging/scanning of checks received in the mail.
Provides backup support keying account receivables into FLAIR for consortium CHD’s and Alachua CHD. Assists with TR96 and TR30 corrections as needed. Provides backup support for TR51 expenditure refunds.
Responsible for securing the designated information sets for the purpose of protecting confidentiality, data integrity and appropriate access for all information both confidential and public records which is stored in hard copy or electronic format.
Other duties as related to position and requested by supervisory staff.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Basic math skills; ability to use a calculator; knowledge of MFMP, FIRS, FIS, WORD, EXCEL, PDF, Pcard WORKS, FLAIR, HMS, People First, Axiom; general accounting principles knowledge, customer service skills, communication skills, organizational skills, extensive computer knowledge, detail oriented, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
Qualifications:
Minimum – minimum 2 years accounts payable experience
Preferred – Experience working with FLAIR, MFMP and AOD
