ELECTRICIAN

APD TACACHALE

GAINESVILLE, FLORIDA

This position may require bending, squatting or standing for extended periods of time and may require lifting up to 100 pounds. The incumbent in this position may be responsible for, but not limited to the following duties:

 

Replaces blown light bulbs, light switches, wall outlets, ceiling light fixtures, ballasts, worn out sockets and replaces worn out electrical cords and plugs on equipment. Checks all electrical motors. Run wire for all new electrical motors. Maintains all electrical panels, ensures breakers are functioning properly. Maintain and repair exit lights and emergency auxiliary lights.

 

Installation of all major electrical wiring for new construction and renovations. Assist in maintaining all underground and overhead lines. Locates and corrects power failures and short circuits Performs electrical work on photo-electric cells, time clocks and emergency repairs to elevators and generators.

 

This position must be active and remain in the Asbestos Worker Management Team by performing asbestos work. Must remain active as a team member. Must maintain asbestos worker’s certification through continuing education, and maintain good physical condition (pass annual asbestos pulmonary screening and physical examination).

 

Perform other related duties as required or requested by supervisor.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Knowledge and ability to use power tools.

Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT(S):

A valid Florida Driver’s License. If initially hired with an out-of-state license the Florida resident must obtain a valid Florida State driver’s license within 30-days of hire. License suspended or revoked for any reason, work permits (Business purpose/ Employment/ Education only license) and some types of restricted license are not acceptable. License that have “Corrective Lenses Restricted,” are acceptable, provided the driver wears the corrective lenses while operating the vehicle.

 

WORK SCHEDULE

This position is located at a 24- hour facility.  Working hours are daily from 8:00 a.m., to 4:30 p.m. Regular Off Days: Saturday and Sunday.
