Responsibilities:
This is work procuring, checking quality, preparation and issuing food at the Food Service Department. This is to include but not limited to the following:
Cook, measure and prepares a variety of foods following standard recipes to proper temperatures and chart it on temperature chart. Check and approve quality of product before cooking or prepping. Ensures all food is appealing and appetizing. Determine portions of food in accordance with prescribed diets. Ensure minimal loss of temperature and quality. Ensure food is prepped and leftovers are stored properly and in accordance with departmental guidelines.
Maintain high level of sanitation in work and storage areas. Hair nets and gloves are worn at all times. Ensure cleanliness while handling food and equipment. Clean equipment and utensils.
Make daily inventory checks to ensure you have what you need for the menus for the following day according to production sheets. Chart leftovers with the amount, date, meal and time.
Work on tray line, employee cafeteria or assist with deliveries as assigned.
Perform other related duties as required.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds independently.
Must be able to work a 40-hour work week.
This position may be required to perform essential services before, during, and after an emergency per APD OP 2-0035.
This position is critical to the safety and supervision of residents and may require the incumbent to work beyond their normal work schedule to maintain minimum coverage levels in the facility.
