SALARY RANGE
$34,760.00 - $38,236.00 Annually $1,336.92 - $1,470.62 Biweekly
The hiring salary may exceed the maximum posted salary.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position spends the majority of their time assisting Sr. mechanics with the following: maintain, repair and replace the following, toilets, sinks, showers, drains, hot water heaters and water supply valves
The incumbent assigned to this position is responsible for electrical to include transporting needed materials to assigned work areas. The work may require bending, squatting or standing for extended periods and may be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
Installing and repairing all types of plumbing fixtures such as heaters, flush valves, gait valves, globe valves, hot water circulation pumps, mixing valves, relief valves, supply lines, P traps.
Install new lines and repair broken lines. Example: sprinkler lines, sewer lines, unstopping sewer lines, lavatories, kitchen sinks, washing machines, floor drains, dish machines, food disposals, air vent lines and condensation lines, etc.
Prepare supply and purchase requisitions for materials that will need to be ordered to complete all task and projects.
Operate hand and power tools associated in the plumbing trade. Responsible for gathering materials needed for each named job such as skill saws, table saws, band saws and other plumbing tools.
Upon completion of the job or at the end of the day, ensures that no hazardous condition exists, clean up all trash and debris, no slippery surface or open holes in pathways, any exposed wires or hot surfaces.
Assists with the relocation of residents’ belongings as needed, and movement of any furniture/equipment at Tacachale.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- A valid Florida Driver’s License. (If initially hired with an out-of-state license the Florida resident must obtain a valid Florida State driver’s license within 30 days of hire. License suspended or revoked for any reason, work permits (Business purpose/ Employment/ Education only license) and some types of restricted license are not acceptable. License that has “Corrective Lenses Restricted,” are acceptable, provided the driver wears the corrective lenses while operating the vehicle.
- Must be physically able to climb multiple flights of stairs.
- Must be able to climb a ladder and/or work from heights.
- Must be able to reach overhead
- Must be able to bend at the waist, kneel and crouch.
- Must be able to work near loud noises and electrical equipment.
- Must be able to work in tight spaces and/or on the rooftop.
- Must be able to walk, stand, bend, climb, for prolonged periods of time.
- Must be able to exert up to 30 pounds of force frequently.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
This position may be required to perform essential services before, during, and after an emergency per APD OP 2-0035.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT
It is the policy of the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities that applicants for employment undergo Level 2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.
