MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR I

APD TACACHALE

GAINESVILLE FLORIDA

 

This position may require bending, squatting or standing for extended periods of time and may require lifting of up to 100 pounds. The incumbent in this position is responsible for, but not limited to the following duties:

 

Supervision of the Carpentry and Painting department, to ensure the installation, repairs and maintenance of all Maintenance aspects are completed correctly and on a timely basis. Coordinate with other maintenance departments to give/receive assistance whenever necessary. Provide technical assistance and review work regularly to ensure productivity, cost effectiveness and a safe work environment.

 

Attend meetings, approval of timesheets and leave request, track budget to make sure that expenditures are kept within department budget.

 

Set timelines for projects within department, order necessary materials, using MFMP (My Florida Market Place), provide back-up information for department budget.

 

Coordinate, plan and prioritize work orders and duty assignments daily. Coordinate with Maintenance Superintendent II and contractors on projects.

 

Review blueprints or drawings and make recommendations concerning renovations and changes.

 

Perform other related duties as requested by supervisor.

 

This position must be active and remain in the Asbestos Worker Management Team by performing asbestos work. Must maintain active as a team member. Must maintain asbestos worker’s certification through continuing education, and maintain good physical condition (pass annual asbestos pulmonary screening and physical examination).

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

 

Knowledge of tools and equipment in multiple trades.

Ability to supervise a multiple building trade work center.

Ability to determine work priorities, assign and insure proper completion of work assignments.

Ability to train subordinates in various technical building crafts.

Ability to lift 100 pounds.

Knowledge of, and ability to read blue prints.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT(S)

 

A valid Florida Driver’s License. (If initially hired with an out-of-state license the Florida resident must obtain a valid Florida State driver’s license within 30-days of hire. License suspended or revoked for any reason, work permits (Business purpose/Employment/Education only license) and some types of restricted license are not acceptable. License that have “Corrective Lenses Restricted,” are acceptable, provided the driver wears the corrective lenses while operating the vehicle.

 

A high school diploma, or its equivalent.

 

WORK SCHEDULE

 

This position is located at a 24- hour facility.  Working hours are daily from 8:00 a.m., to 4:30 p.m. Regular Off Days: Saturday and Sunday.
