APD provides critical services and support for customers with developmental disabilities to reach their full potential. SALARY RANGE

$40,497.36 - $44,540.50 Annually      $1,557.36 to $1,713.10 Biweekly

The hiring salary may exceed the maximum posted salary.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises the Electrical and plumbing department, to ensure the installation, repair and maintenance of all Maintenance aspects is completed correctly and in a timely manner.

Coordinates with other maintenance departments to five and receive assistance whenever necessary. 

Provides technical assistance and review work regularly to ensure productivity, cost effectiveness and a safe work environment.

Attend meetings, approves timesheets and leave requests, tracks budget to ensure that expenditures are kept within departmental budget.

Sets timelines for projects within department, orders necessary materials, using the My Florida Market Place, and provides back up information for purchase. 

Coordinates, plans and prioritizes work orders and duty assignments daily. 

Coordinates with the Assistant Division Director and contracts on projects.

Reviews blueprints or drawings and makes recommendations concerning renovations and changes.

This position also assists with relocation of residents’ belongings as needed, and movement of any furniture/equipment at Tacachale.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • A valid Florida Driver’s License.
    • If hired with an out-of-state license a valid Florida State driver’s license must be obtained within 30 days.
    • Corrective Lenses Restricted license are acceptable provided the driver wears the corrective lenses while operating a state vehicle.
  • Must be willing to perform essential services before, during, and after an emergency.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • One (1) year supervisory experience.
  • Proficient in electrical and plumbing.

This position may be required to perform essential services before, during, and after an emergency per APD OP 2-0035.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of:

  • Tools, and equipment in multiple trades.
  • And ability to read blueprints.

Ability to:

  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Supervise a multiple building trade work center.
  • Determine work priorities, assign and ensure proper completion of work assignments.
  • Train subordinates in various technical building crafts.

DIRECT DEPOSIT PROGRAM

As a condition of employment, a person appointed to a position in the State Personnel System is required to participate in the Direct Deposit Program.  Rather than receiving a paper paycheck, your funds will be deposited directly into your account at your financial institution. This will be accomplished by Electronic Funds Transfer. Banks, savings and loan associations, and credit unions are eligible to accept such deposits. Retirement funds are also required to be in the Direct Deposit Program.

 

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT

It is the policy of the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities that applicants for employment undergo Level 2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.
