SALARY RANGE
$40,491.36 - $44,540.50 Annually $1,557.36 - $1,713.10 Biweekly
The hiring salary may exceed the maximum posted salary.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position spends the majority of its time communicating with, motivating, training, and evaluation employees, and planning and directing employees’ work.
The incumbent in this position supervises the life safety operations within the Physical Plant Division.
Serves as the Tacachale Safety Coordinator. This includes but is not limited to overseeing the safety inspections of all occupied buildings. Meets with facility/department managers to discuss deficiencies found and work with the managers to complete a corrective action plan. Holds quarterly safety meetings with facility/department managers.
Serves as the contact to the Agencies for Health Care Administration as it relates to regulatory life safety annual facility reviews.
Serves as the contact to the State Fire Marshal as it relates to regulatory life safety annual facility reviews.
Supervises the Tacachale Life Safety Program. This includes but is not limited to ensuring the proper function and repair of all fire sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, and emergency generators. Ensures all fire drills are completed on time and all deficiencies noted are corrected.
Attends all required in-service workshops and training sessions as needed or required to maintain and improve knowledge and skills.
Assists with relocation of residents’ belongings as needed, and movement of any furniture/equipment at Tacachale.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- A valid Florida Driver’s License.
- If hired with an out-of-state license a valid Florida State driver’s license must be obtained within 30 days.
- Corrective Lenses Restricted license are acceptable provided the driver wears the corrective lenses while operating a state vehicle.
- Must be willing to perform essential services before, during, and after an emergency.
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs with or without accommodations.
- Must have three (3) years of experience in supervising/managing.
- Must have three (3) years of experience in a life safety field.
- Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
This position may be required to perform essential services before, during, and after an emergency per APD OP 2-0035.
This position is critical to the safety and supervision of residents and may require the incumbent to work beyond their normal work schedule to maintain minimum coverage levels in the facility.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT
It is the policy of the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities that applicants for employment undergo Level 2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
