MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

A bachelor's degree from a college or university and one (1) year of professional experience in systems analysis, management analysis, program planning, program research, program evaluation, engineering or administrative work.

 

A master's degree from a college or university can substitute for the required experience.

 

Professional or nonprofessional experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.

 

Requires possession of a valid class E driver license.

JOB DUTIES:

 

This position is responsible for assisting in data collection and analysis of forest protection programs for the Florida Forest Service (FFS). Serves as the Communication Center Advisor. This position will assist with the development and system modernization to implement updates to current FFS programs, ensuring critical real-time information for emergency response and daily operations is communicated efficiently and effectively. Assists with researching and establishing dashboards for mitigation planning, program effectiveness, and federal grant reporting to facilitate collection of information, dissemination, and reporting for funding acquisition.

 

Assist with FiResponse troubleshooting issues and providing customer service as needed. Assist with the integration of multiple platforms utilized for situational awareness for FFS information gathering and dissemination. Monitor electronic Open Burn Authorizations to ensure accuracy and make recommendations for improvements and modernizations. Review fire reports for accuracy, incorporate historical fire data, and develop dashboards and visualizations to effectively convey fire risks and trends, presenting this information to fire managers to support the development of fire mitigation strategies, prescribed burn plans, and emergency response protocols.

 

Evaluate and make recommendations to upgrade the Mitigation Dashboard to enhance information processing for reporting, planning, and program effectiveness. Responsible for federal funding acquisition and the ability to collect and present this information to federal grant reviewers to secure federal funding for the FFS.

 

Performs data entry, training and quality control into state and federal fire program databases including IQS, ROSS, FAMWEB, and other reporting systems as needed.  Serves as back-up in providing coordination for the FFS IMTs / Crews to include annual meetings / training.  Coordinates with State Officer In Charge and the State Emergency Operation Center (SEOC) for other state agency resource orders.
