MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. 

Experience in news reporting, editing, public relations, public information, agricultural communications, advertising, marketing, mass communications or journalism can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education. 

Possession of a valid driver license.

JOB DUTIES:

Computer Skills:

  • Research division and department program and duties.
  • Database entry for department programs and records purposes.

Customer Service:

  • Assists with extended helpline answering customers questions about our ongoing programs such as Saw Palmetto Berry permit, Hemp permit, transferring calls to the pertinent parties’ and/or taking messages.
  • Serves as back up receptionist for daily breaks and gaps in coverage.

Outreach Assistance:

  • Assists with inventory and the distribution of materials for the division, the public and our stakeholders
  • Mails program information to the public as requested.

Other Duties:

  • Provides support as needed to the supervisor

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of telecommunication and computer skills including, but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Outlook and Word.
  • Knowledge of database structures and fields.
  • Skill with computers and data processing operations.
  • Skill in customer service.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Ability to process information logically, prioritize, and solve problems.
  • Ability to plan, organize, multi-task, and coordinate work assignments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and the public.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
