This advertisement is for multiple vacancies on all Facilities/Homes/Shifts

Shift Schedule

1st - 6:00 A.M. - 2:30 P.M.

2nd - 2:00 P.M. - 10:30 P.M.

3rd - 10:15 P.M. - 6:15 A.M.

Off days will be two (2) days other than Saturday and Sunday

Responsibilities:

 

The incumbent is responsible for performing prescribed care and treatment of patients under the direction of professional nursing staff and transportation of all off campus medical appointments.

Performs direct care and treatment ad monitors the health status of patients under their supervision and direction of professional nursing staff.

Performs simple measures such as but not limited to: applying splints, and positioning devices, making occupied and unoccupied beds, changing linens, taking vital signs, weights, recording intake and output, etc.

Provide the assistant necessary when giving residents the following activities of daily living nursing care: oral hygiene; bathing; dressing, and grooming; hair and nail care; shaving; toileting.

Assist in obtaining urine, blood, and other specimens.

 

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

 

Knowledge of nursing principles, practices and techniques. 

Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.

Skilled in the use of emergency equipment within scope of training.

Ability to interact, assess and respond to individuals who are developmentally disabled.

Ability to provide emergency nursing care to include but not limited to basic life support, emergency care for choking (abdominal thrust), rescue breathing and use emergency equipment.

Ability to stand, walk, sit and bend for periods in excess of three hours.

Ability to assist in lifting and transferring residents weighing more than 100 pounds, as needed.

Ability to successfully complete Prevention and Safety Strategies Training.

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

This position may be required to perform essential services before, during, and after an emergency per APD OP 2-0035.

 

This position is critical to the safety and supervision of residents and may require the incumbent to work beyond their normal work schedule to maintain minimum coverage levels in the facility.
