SALARY RANGE
$50,000 Annually
The hiring salary may exceed the maximum posted salary.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Process Personnel Action Requests in People First or other system.
Completes requests for employment verifications.
Assists with Annual Statewide Benefits Fair Coordination, set up and organization.
Assists managers, supervisors and line staff regarding payroll and leave policies and procedures. Interprets state and departmental payroll and leave rules and regulations.
Works directly with staff resolving timesheet issues to ensure accurate coding and completion by deadline.
Acts as a timesheet manager and timekeeper for employees reassigned to temporary positions or on Administrative Leave.
Runs payroll reports for review and completion of missing timesheets. Complete payroll process as outlined in the State Payroll Manual.
Prepares Wage Statements for Workers Compensation upon request.
Processes Additional Employment Outside of State Government requests.
Assist employees with their benefits.
Assist in the processing of Retirement and DROP paperwork and providing information to employees regarding Florida Retirement System as requested.
Audit leave balances, assist employees and managers with leave records.
Research, analyze, and prepare reports. Provide technical assistance, consultation, and advice to staff and managers.
Greet and receive customers, answer calls, and direct them to the correct area, assist with records request, organize, sort and classify a high volume of incoming documents according to established procedures when covering the front desk.
Maintain files in the Agency’s electronic personnel file system.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must have at least two (2) years of Payroll.
- Must be willing to perform essential services before, during, and after an emergency.
Preference will be given to those with two (2) years of experience in the processing of payroll or other related functions.
This position may be required to perform essential services before, during, and after an emergency per APD OP 2-0035.

As a condition of employment, a person appointed to a position in the State Personnel System is required to participate in the Direct Deposit Program. Rather than receiving a paper paycheck, your funds will be deposited directly into your account at your financial institution. This will be accomplished by Electronic Funds Transfer. Banks, savings and loan associations, and credit unions are eligible to accept such deposits. Retirement funds are also required to be in the Direct Deposit Program.
BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT
It is the policy of the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities that applicants for employment undergo Level 2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.
