Your Specific Responsibilities:

Answers multi-line switchboard, ensuring calls are answered promptly, professionally, courteously, and are routed to the

appropriate areas. Asks probing questions to determine resources client may need and ensure information provided is accurate and

delivered professionally.

Runs the no show report and processes no shows for Main Site, Alachua Clinic, SW Clinic and Afterhours Clinic through an HMS

Progress Note for all clinics (except Chronic Disease), in addition to sending PEDS no show letters to the parent or guardian of the

child, and family planning no show letters to the client.

Reviews denied lab insurance claims. Updates insurance information on form and in HMS, including status, or notates insurance

closed on forms of denied claims and / or claims that need corrected information.

Reviews client records and report to determine ethnicity was captured/updated per FL DOH Standards. Make corrections as needed.

Provides important information to potential refugee clients to ensure they receive the services they need in a timely manner. Asks

probing question to determine if clients are RHA or immigration, transfer them appropriately to be scheduled. Assists with

information on follow-up appointments.

Reschedules appointments via client calls if appropriate. Transfers calls to appointment desk if unable to assist.

Notes accounts for clients who call to advise they will be late. Obtains appropriate approval per policy.

Responsible for securing the designated information sets for purposes of protecting confidentiality, data integrity, and appropriate

access for all information, both confidential and public record, which is stored in hard copy or electronic format.

Other duties or tasks assigned by management.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of computer software (EHR, Microsoft Word, Excel, HMS, FLMMIS, FLSHOTS, AVAILITY, WAGES, 3rd party

insurance websites

Strong customer service skills, ability to work with the public.

Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Skilled at data entry.

Detail oriented

Qualifications:

Minimum - Must have a high school diploma or its equivalent.

Must be willing to work an 8-hour shift Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 5:00 p.m. with an hour lunch.

Must have at least one year of experience using computers and computer programs such as Word, Excel, or Medical

Client databases.

Must be proficient in HMS, including service coding and making progress notes.

Must have one year answering multi-line phones and transferring calls    

      

Preferred - Experience verifying Florida Medicaid, Medicare, or third-party insurance coverage through FLMMIS, Availity or other

electronic method.

Experience scheduling appointments through an Electronic Health Record.
