SENIOR LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE - OPS

APD TACACHALE

GAINESVILLE FLORIDA

 

Responsible for performing prescribed care and treatment of patients under the direction of a professional nursing.

 

Transports patients off campus for medical appointments.

 

Performs direct care, treatment, and monitors the health status of patients under the supervision and direction of a professional nursing staff.

 

Performs simple measures such as but not limited to: applying splints, positioning devices, making occupied and  unoccupied beds, changing linens, taking vital signs, weights, recording intake and output, etc.

 

Provide the assistance necessary when giving residents the following activities of daily living nursing care: oral hygiene; bathing; dressing, grooming; hair and nail care; shaving and toileting.

 

Assist in obtaining urine, blood, and other specimens.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

 

Knowledge of nursing principles, practices and techniques. 

Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.

Skilled in the use of emergency equipment within scope of training.

Ability to interact, assess and respond to individuals who are developmentally disabled.

Ability to provide emergency nursing care to include but not limited to basic life support, emergency care for choking (abdominal thrust), rescue breathing and use emergency equipment.

Ability to stand, walk, sit and bend for periods in excess of three hours.

Ability to assist in lifting and transferring residents weighing more than 100 pounds, as needed.

Ability to successfully complete Prevention and Safety Strategies Training.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT(S)

 

A valid Florida Driver’s License. (If initially hired with an out-of-state license the Florida resident must obtain a valid Florida State driver’s license within 30-days of hire. License suspended or revoked for any reason, work permits (Business purpose/Employment/Education only license) and some types of restricted license are not acceptable. License that have “Corrective Lenses Restricted,” are acceptable, provided the driver wears the corrective lenses while operating the vehicle.

 

Current Licenses Practical Nurse License & CPR Healthcare Provider Certification.

 

WORK SCHEDULE

 

This position is located at a 24- hour facility.  Various shifts and regular days off.
