SALARY RANGE

$33,760.00 - $37,136.00 Annually      $1,298.46 - $1,428.31 Biweekly

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The employee will create an environment that cultivates people and transforms teams by increasing transparency and providing and/or seeking opportunities for professional development. This position is required to work in assigned office or headquarters. This position is not eligible for telework.

 

The incumbent holds a position of trust and adheres to the policies and procedures that govern the Agency for Persons with Disabilities and Tacachale to ensure the safety of the residents, employees and visitors of Tacachale.

Answer incoming calls, connects callers to desired parties, documents resident incident reports, maintains several logs, monitors the fire alarm panel, and notifies officers as necessary.  In emergencies, contacts the appropriate staff, which includes but is not limited to, all on-call staff, Licensed Independent Practitioners, Nurses, Center Monitors, Administrators, Maintenance Employees and the Officer of the Day.  Patrols the grounds to ensure unoccupied buildings are secured, and to look for potentially hazardous situations or suspicious activity.  Controls access to Tacachale, processes outgoing and incoming resident trips, assists emergency responders, and responds to all calls for assistance center wide.

Perform various word processing responsibilities, which can include proofreading documents before they are sent out or updating Tacachale phone directory. Conduct other administrative task, including sending facsimiles, and making copies.   

Maintains the cleanliness and condition of the immediate area. Perform routine maintenance on switchboard system or contact outside contractor to visit the office to fix the system if necessary.

Performs other related duties as required.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to assist with evacuation of residents during an emergency.
  • Must be able to do repetitive movements with arms, hands, neck and head.
  • Must be able to demonstrate competency, as appropriate, in all areas of training, some of which require physical activity such as CPR and PASS.
  • Must be able to bend, twist, turn, kneel, stoop, squat, push, pull, lift and walk extended distances on uneven surfaces. (Zone checks).
  • Must be able to physically operate all equipment necessary to do job tasks.
  • Must be able to remain alert while on duty.
  • Must be able to work 16 hour shifts as needed

 

This position may be required to perform essential services before, during, and after an emergency per APD OP 2-0035.

 

This position is critical to the safety and supervision of residents and may require the incumbent to work beyond their normal work schedule to maintain minimum coverage levels in the facility.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • maintain certification in Prevention and Safety Strategies Training (P.A.S.S.).
  • maintain certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Direct Care In-Service (DCI).

As a condition of employment, a person appointed to a position in the State Personnel System is required to participate in the Direct Deposit Program.  Rather than receiving a paper paycheck, your funds will be deposited directly into your account at your financial institution. BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT

It is the policy of the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities that applicants for employment undergo Level 2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.

No applicant for a designated position will be employed or permitted to volunteer until the Level 2 screening results are received, reviewed, and approved by the Agency.

Level 2 background screening shall include, but not be limited to, fingerprinting for Statewide criminal and juvenile records checks through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, and Federal criminal records checks through the Federal Bureau of Investigation and may include local criminal records checks through local law enforcement agencies.

Pursuant to S. 110.1127(1), Florida Statutes, this position requires a background investigation, including fingerprinting.
