Your Specific Responsibilities:
Loads and delivers all mail, medical, office, and maintenance supplies to all Florida Department of Health sites in Pasco County (CHD) and any other specified locations. Travel may occur outside of this county as needed. Makes deliveries and pick-ups countywide, i.e., county buildings/departments, local vendors, storage facility, etc.
Collects from other offices and takes deposits to the bank daily which will include picking up daily deposits from outlying sites and delivers to Fiscal.
Back-up for opening and sorting of mail for each program at the Summit office and delivers outgoing mail to the U. S. Post Office in Hudson as needed.
Completes facilities inspection of satellite locations, report findings to supervisor and implement corrective actions as necessarry. Assist facilities department with interoffice moves and assembling of office type equipment.
Performs storekeeping duties to include receiving and distribution, both physical receiving and the electronic component in My Florida Marketplace (MFMP), and processing surplus items.
Assists with maintenance of vehicles assigned to the department by doing vehicle/trailer maintenance inspections and minor repairs countywide as directed. Ensures that all DOH response equipment (Trailers, generators, light tower etc.) are maintained in ready condition.
Assists with minor maintenance, cleanup, and upkeep of the CHD as needed or requested; submits and monitors interal workorder requests and follows up as needed.
Assists with Public Health Preparedness by doing logistical work at shelters, points of dispensing (POD), staging areas, with setup and delivery of equipment/supplies as needed. Assist with outreach events in the community by setting up, delivery of equipment/supplies, assisting with staffing at the event, and may need to move vehicles such as large trucks and/or trailers to help support the event.
Performs other related duties as requested/required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to operate a large motor vehicles, and pull trailers.
May need to utlize or operate a forklift machine and pallet jack; training will be provided.
Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to details.
Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
Ability in using hand tools.
Knowledge in minor repairs and maintenance of grounds and building.
Ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
This position will require reaching, bending, stretching, twisting or stooping and must be able to lift heavy, bulky packages (some more than 50 pounds).
Must be able to work out in the field in the Florida weather (hot, humid, wet, etc.) which may also require strenuous physical activity.
Computer skills including MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Web EOC and other related programs.
