The incumbent is part of a global public health organization and is expected to support the Florida Department of Health in Pasco County in its mission to protect, promote and improve the health of all people in Florida through integrated state, county and community efforts and its vision to be the Healthiest State in the Nation. Your Specific Responsibilities:
Greets all clients coming into clinic for Family Health Services. Checks clients in, updates demographics, and routes client through clinic for assistance. Responsible for providing generalized clerical services in all programs including: scheduling clinic appointments, making appointment reminder calls, recalls client no-show appointments, registration of all clients to include financial eligibility, completing all necessary consent forms per program protocol, answering telephone calls using proper etiquette and routing to appropriate personnel or taking accurate messages. Completes scanning of documents daily on all clients new and established. Verifies insurance eligibility by using Change, FMMIS and / or Availity; checks for updates and enters data into HMS.
Interviews clients to determine type of services needed. Process eligibility paperwork and application for clients needing Medicaid for Pregnancy (PEPW). Keeps logs of applications and provides letter of approval / denial to client timely. Determines and processes FPW eligibility paperwork for clients needing Medicaid services for Family Planning, ensures all documents required are provided to FPW Clerk in charge for processing.
Keeps abreast of Medicaid and Medicare billing information, updates and changes. Collects fees for service and prepares for daily deposits. Accepts money and issues change and receipts. Checks and balances daily receipts. Uses charge card machine to collect fees from clients.
Assists with orientation/training of clerical staff as directed. Employee will be crossed trained for all clerical positions. Attends all staff meetings necessary.
Operates computer, printer, copy machines and scanners with accuracy.
Performs other related duties as required.
