The incumbent is part of a global public health organization and is expected to support the Florida Department of Health in Pasco County in its mission to protect, promote and improve the health of all people in Florida through integrated state, county and community efforts and its vision to be the Healthiest State in the Nation. Your Specific Responsibilities:
Provides generalized nursing services in all public health programs including follow-up on referrals. Provides nursing assessments, care, and treatment in all Family Health Services programs. Assesses, identifies, and documents client and process problems making a nursing process and diagnosis and utilizing electronic health record.
Provides coverage and assists providers in clinic by providing pre and post interviews on clients.
Responsible for case management of assigned programs. Maintains a tracking system for follow-up and makes referrals to community agencies providing services to meet the clients’ needs in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
Performs HIV counseling, makes referrals, and maintains files according to policies and procedures.
Performs the functions of the Triage Nurse as required. Performs Nursing telephone triage to the FDOH Pasco clients and/or individuals calling into the clinic Triage line.
Provides immunizations to adults and children as required according to the state and local guidelines and policies. Provides the required counseling and education on all immunizations administered according to the state and local policies and procedures.
Responsible for timely client management, which includes assessment, planning, care implementation, counseling, education, referral, follow-up and documentation for Family Health Services programs including but not limited to: Family Planning - Title X, Sterilization, Teens, Immunizations Childhood and Adult, Sexually Transmitted Diseases, Tuberculosis, Hep C treatment, PreP Initiatives, HIV/AIDS etc.
Other clinical and nursing programs as funded and/or established.
- Perform laboratory and other diagnostic tests as indicated.
- Assists with ordering and maintaining all inventory (supplies/medication/vaccines)
- Maintenance of Bloodborne Exposure Policy and Procedure, as well as general backup for the department.
- Reviews medical records at least on a monthly basis for Quality Improvement (QI) maintenance, collates, and documents information as needed for monthly report.
- Serves as a preceptor for nursing students and trainees.
- Orients and trains new members of DOH Pasco staff
Performs other duties as required.
Attends workshops, meetings, and staff meetings as indicated and participates in activities for professional development. Provide nursing services during a disaster, according to the FDOH Pasco's Nursing Policy and Procedure.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Qualifications:
Licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in accordance with Florida Statute 464. Valid CPR Certification
