MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

One (1) year of experience in the maintenance and repair of buildings, plumbing or mechanical equipment.

 

Requires possession of a valid Driver’s License.

JOB DUTIES:

 

This position, headquartered at the Immokalee State Farmers Market in Collier, provides a broad range of repair and maintenance functions.

 

Maintain the market grounds by mowing and  trimming grass, picking up trash, spraying weed and bug killers, and caring for the shrubs and flowers. 

 

Repair and/or paint interior and exterior of buildings and offices, repair windows and panes, doors, locks, steps, walls and structural members, packing house floors and roof leaks.

 

Clean and stock public restrooms daily with necessary supplies.

 

Maintain, repair and/or replace light fixtures, switches, electrical breakers, outlets, wiring, bulbs, air conditioners, etc.

 

Repair and/or replace toilets, lavatories, faucets, water valves, water lines, sewer drains, garden hoses, etc.

 

Operate, maintain and repair all power tools, market truck and other market equipment.

 

Maintain inventories of market cleaning supplies and supplies for daily maintenance.

 

Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.

 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 

  • General principles of carpentry, electricity and plumbing.
  • Skill in using hand, power and bench tools.
  • Ability to do some heavy lifting, to communicate effectively, to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
