Senior Clerk – F/C (Warehouse/Mailroom) – 70036244
This advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Martin Correctional Institution in the Warehouse/Mailroom.
Salary: $32,760.00 annually
SALARY WILL BE DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT PAY POLICY.
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The incumbent will be acting on behalf of the institution providing administrative checks and balances needed to ensure that the assets of the Department are protected, and all legislative requirements are met. Duties may include, but will not be limited to the following:
- Provides clerical and operational support of the daily operation, where applicable, of the mailroom, inmate discharge function and cash receipts, and laundry operations. This includes, but is not limited to, the receipt, storage, and distribution of commodities from vendors; receipt, inspection, and distribution of all mail for the institution as outlined by procedure.
- Distributes all incoming and outgoing institutional mail, prepares routine replies to correspondence/ inquiries and types of reports. Assists vendors and institutional staff with routine questions and/or problems.
- Provides clerical support of institutional operations, where applicable, in handling court documents and interpreting documents as related to mailroom operations. Serves as backup to other staff in their related duties as deemed appropriate.
- Establish and maintain professional working relationships with staff and others by helping by telephone or in person with intake data, completing correspondence, data entries, file creation, and file imaging while providing professional courtesy and a positive demeanor for approachable lines of communication between the institution and the public sector.
- Ensure all supplies and equipment ordered, issued, monitored for expiration dates or malfunction ensuring documentation is completed as required. Maintain perpetual inventory of office supplies for supply order. Complete My Florida Marketplace (MFMP) processing if needed.
- Maintains suspense and permanent files on documents and ensures timely action is taken.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid driver’s license.
- High school diploma or its equivalent.
