Position Overview and Responsibilities:

Compliance with the processing requirements of Chapter 215.422, F.S. is mandatory. Persistent failure to comply with this section by any agency of the state shall constitute good cause for discharge of employees duly found responsible, or predominantly responsible, for failure to comply.

 

This position assists in planning, coordinating, and implementing all administrative activities involved in park operation.

 

Performs fiscal, purchasing, and budget tracking duties for GEOpark. Maintains computerized budget tracking system and reconciles with SAMAS. Provides related budget reports to park manager and district. Assists park manager in the planning and administration of park contracts, use agreements and permits.

 

Performs and directs data entry required to maintain park records. Maintains park archival and resource files. Develops management reports and summaries for use in making management decisions and planning park activities, services, and resource management. Monitors and audits park revenue procedures and related reports. Performs or directs adjustments to cash register and weekly reports programs.

 

Assists in assuring park compliance with current division policies, procedures, and programs. Assists in training staff in proper park procedures and practices. Provides recommendations to park manager for processes and procedures which will promote efficiency and simplify park administrative functions. Is familiar with duties of all administrative work stations and work these stations as necessary due to employee absence.

 

Maintains park property records and performs semiannual property audit.

 

Processes technical park correspondence, investigates subject matter, and prepares replies.

 

Represents park manage at meetings with division representatives, other agencies and organization. Assists in developing park publicly and media contacts.

 

Perform other related duties as required.

Interacting with all internal and external customers and the general public in a professional, tactful and courteous manner

Microsoft Office Suite programs

Tracking and reconciling multiple budgets

Organization of computer files and records

Accounting software and point of sale platforms

Managing accounts receivable and payable procedures

Revenue accounting and reporting

Position of Special Trust Requirement:

This position is designated as a Position of Special Trust in accordance with DEP Directive 422, Positions of Special Trust or Responsibility. Successful completion of background screening will be required for this position.
