STARTING SALARY:  $1,780.37 bi-weekly. (In accordance with the current spending restrictions, an internal promotion into this position will be filled at the minimum of the pay grade or up to 5% of the employee's current rate, whichever is higher.) 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Program Reviews, Quality Improvement and Policy Implementation

Performs on-site internal administrative and investigative reviews as assigned by the office of the Inspector General, Regional Director or Chief Probation Officer generated from issues or complaints in relation to Probation and Conditional Release supervision or staff complaints in Compliance with the Standards of Conduct policy and procedures and statutory mandates.   

Coordinates circuit reporting and responses to all Central Communications Center (CCC) to include the completion of Initial Assessments and Program Reviews.  These will be conducted by a thorough review of case notes, case files, Juvenile Justice Information System (JJIS) and interviews with applicable parties. Complete report in the CCC module in JJIS. Work with Circuit Administration to address any deficiencies. 

Performs internal quality improvement (QI) reviews based on QI standards and Administrative Code 63D, 63T and 63F to identify needed improvements in probation services.  Review case notes, court orders and case files etc. to determine if QI standards are being adhered to.  Work with Circuit to create a corrective action plan if needed based on the reviews.  Assists administration in policy implementation and changes to circuit procedures based on review and assessments of units to improve efficiency and productively for Probation and Intervention Services.

Provider Referrals

Manage and track contracted provider referrals within the circuit as well as become familiar with contracts to ensure the providers are meeting their obligations.

Provide Circuit Administration with monthly usage report and notify Juvenile Probation Officer (JPO)’s of available slots.

Facilitate training with JPO’s to educate them on the services offered by the providers.

Attend monthly provider meetings with the Assistant Chief Probation Officer (ACPO) to assist in monitoring available slots.

Assist Circuit Administration with pilot initiatives

This position will facilitate the Know the Law Class, Probation Orientation and other Circuit initiatives.

Coordinate and/or participate in meetings, committees, training events, workgroup as requested.

Track necessary data to provide feedback to the Chief Probation Officer so it can be shared with stakeholders or used to make changes within the Circuit.   

Reviews Supervised Released cases to ensure contacts are being made per policy.  Act as liaison to law enforcement to enhance supervision of youth in the community.    Completes special assignments as requested.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A high school diploma or equivalency.

A valid driver’s license.

Knowledge of computer programs.

Ability to develop case plans; communicate effectively.

Ability to determine work priorities.

Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with community and judicial partners for the purpose of information sharing and collaboration to address community concerns and promote safe and nurturing communities.

Ability to make independent decisions based on individual analysis, have strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to conduct and document interviews.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates with data experience and data analysis experience may be given preference.
