Pay:
$52,530 Annually
Your Specific Responsibilities:
- Conducts and documents compliance assistance and inspections for assigned facilities and sites pursuant to requirements of Chapters 253, 258, 373 and 403, Florida Statutes, and Title 62, Florida Administrative Code. Assists and advises owners/operators with compliance issues as appropriate. Responsible for the accurate and timely entry of required data and system information into agency databases and Oculus. Conducts complex site inspections for compliance and conditions of issued permits. Investigates assigned complaints. Recommends compliance and enforcement actions as appropriate. Drafts compliance and enforcement documents such as compliance assistance letters, warning letters and model documents. Reviews and evaluates permits for assigned facilities as required. Provides outreach and compliance assistance to owners/operators as needed.
- Participates in cross-training activities as required.
- Performs other duties as required by supervisor.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of the terminology, principles and analytical techniques of the environmental or natural sciences.
- Knowledge of or ability to understand air resource and/or stormwater regulation activities.
- Ability to understand and apply applicable regulations, policies and procedures relating to environmental programs.
- Ability to evaluate, analyze and interpret technical reports and supporting documentation.
- Ability to determine work priorities and ensure proper completion of work assignments.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to prepare technical reports.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and leadership.
- Ability to interact with customers in a tactful and courteous manner.
- Ability to cross-train into multiple regulatory programs.
- Ability to meet established performance standards as identified in the district performance standards document.

Required or Preferred Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; and one year of verifiable related experience; or any combination of post-secondary education or verifiable related experience, as described in this posting, for a total of five years.
