What you will do:
This position is with the General Services Team and will be filled in the Jacksonville office. The Incumbent will primarily assist in maintaining the Roberts Building and support other locations in the Northeast Region (NER), performing preventative maintenance tasks, maintenance repairs, records management tasks, fleet management, property inventory and management, facility oversight, and some purchasing related tasks through approved vendors. This position will require occasional travel in the Northeast Region.
How you will make an impact:
Duties Include:
- Perform and document preventative maintenance tasks for DCF state owned facilities and warehouses in the Northeast Region. This includes preventative maintenance for all HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire and Life Safety equipment.
- Perform light maintenance tasks for HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and Door Hardware for all facilities and warehouses in the Northeast Region. This may also include obtaining quotes and scheduling vendors to assist in repairs when needed.
- Assist with furniture moves hanging pictures whiteboards etc.
- Working with vendors to schedule and quote repairs as needed.
- Provides support and assistance relating to property accountability and inventory, records management, fleet management, and any other General Services related tasks as needed.
- Assist the Northeast Region during hurricane response or activations as needed.
- Daytime travel with occasional overnight travel within the Northeast region.
- Use of ladders and equipment to perform required maintenance duties.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Two years General Services or Maintenance related work experience, a high school diploma or its equivalent can substitute for one year of the required work experience.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with building maintenance functions and preventative maintenance tasks for multiple buildings.
- General Services and/or Facilities experience.
- State of Florida Property and Inventory experience.
- HVAC, Plumbing, or Electrical Experience.
- Customer service experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Principles and practices of facilities maintenance, preventative maintenance, and property management.
- Understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Ability to use step ladder and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Develop various reports.
- Communicate effectively.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques and make independent decisions in accordance with documented processes.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to recognize and satisfy customer needs in a busy environment.
- Ability to organize work assignments.
