GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This is a professional sales, administrative, and supervisory position. This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing the activities of District marketing support personnel to maximize sales and service provided to Florida Lottery retailers and customers. This position may require travel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Each employee is expected to be knowledgeable of the Lottery’s Responsible Gaming program, including the No Underage Play and Play Within Your Means messaging, and will ensure retailers and players are aware of the program and provided information, as necessary.
- Plans, organizes, and directs internal office and warehouse operations.
- Trains and motivates office staff to improve the quality of their work performance.
- Directs the work of assigned Lottery Marketing Specialists and assists with district sales and marketing functions as directed by management. Build lunch schedule for LMS staff.
- Monitors and evaluates performance of District Office customer service functions including ticket and merchandise sales, prize validations and payments, retailer contract administration, warehouse functions, and administrative office operations.
- Oversees and ensures the efficient operation of District vehicle fleet including adherence to preventative and routine maintenance safety inspections, and procurement of vendors.
- Monitors monthly vehicle logs, Non-Cash Fringe Benefit forms, and Monthly Mileage/Fuel logs to ensure compliance with Fleet Procedures.
- Oversees, coordinates, and supervises District Office facilities management.
- Develops, recommends, and implements internal operating procedures.
- Coordinates and oversees District office security to ensure the safety of personnel and accountability of Florida Lottery property and assets.
- Oversees District fiscal expenditure and procurement activities.
- Assists and coordinates the daily and weekly Fortune opening and closing procedures such as opening the safe, preparing the cash drawer, counting cash, maintaining the instant ticket log, preparing and checking the printer, enabling and printing reports from the online terminal, completing the daily cash spreadsheet and checking reconciliation, reconciles differences, performs manual redemption (if needed) in accordance with policies and procedures, and preparation of bank deposits.
- Assists with daily and weekly Fortune claim processes including review of problem claims submitted, contacting PAS for assistance, assisting customers with completion of claims, voiding DCW checks, mailing prize payment checks to winners, and batch validating in accordance with policy and procedures.
- Ensures completion of the weekly settlement package.
- Validates and processes tickets for payments.
- Validates and processes claims using the applicable system.
- Performs routine clerical duties including answering and routing telephone calls.
- Answers questions and provides information on how to play all Lottery games.
- Assists players and retailers by responding to questions related to prize validation and payment, winning numbers, and sale of Lottery products.
- Process NSF paperwork for retailers and forwards to headquarters.
- Communicates with security and technical control and serves as Point of Contact.
- Communicates directives, policies, procedures, and relevant information to subordinates.
- Conducts office operational staff meetings.
- Interprets and administers agency rules, policies, and procedures.
- Attends meetings, trainings, and seminars as directed by management.
- Inventories and ensures efficient and timely disbursement of Lottery promotional items and point of sale materials to maximize sales and marketing impact.
- Coordinates return inventory in MICs.
- Promotes and sells Lottery tickets in the District office.
- Participates in sales events and promotions.
- Prepares flyers to support various promotions.
- Performs special assignments, research, and report preparation, as assigned by management.
- Prepares Winner Awareness flyers.
- Performs other related duties as appropriate or assigned by management.
- Operates a motor vehicle as required to fulfill the duties of the position, which may include overnight trips.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Attendance is an essential function of this position.

Successful passing of a criminal background check (state, local, and national) is required.
A high school diploma or equivalent (GED).

The types of confidential information may include, but are not limited to, payroll information, budget matters, policy decisions, tax matters, employee disciplinary issues, and other personnel data.
