State Attorney’s Office, 4th Judicial Circuit – Special Victim’s Unit – We are seeking a detailed oriented and dedicated individual to work in our Special Victims Unit. Our Organization and Mission: The mission of the State Attorney’s Office is to pursue justice for the citizens of the Fourth Judicial Circuit of Florida and to fairly and impartially enforce the law.
This Legal Assistant III position performs a variety of tasks to assist Assistant State Attorneys, Fourth Judicial Circuit, Special Victims Unit, with the completion of the following administrative duties:
Job Duties
- Dependable and routine in-office attendance during regularly scheduled business hours.

- Work effectively as a team contributor as well as independently.
- Comply with all Public Records statutes and policies.
- Updates case management system and notes.
- Prepare Legal Documents.
- Coordinate meetings, depositions and or court appearances including space, time, place and notify all participants.
- Maintain calendars.
- Arrange travel itinerary and hotel accommodations and reimbursement forms.
- Research and prepare reports as necessary.
- Receive, scan and distribute incoming mail.
- Receive and process Law Enforcement electronic media.
- Assist in the processing and maintenance of all electronic media including e-filings, evidence & media.
- Answer questions which may involve the interpretation of policies and procedures.
- Make assignments; schedules hours of work; provides for office coverage; and reviews the work of subordinate employees.
- Perform any and all duties as required.
- Incumbents in this position may be required to lift files (up to 25 lbs.)
Requirements
A high school diploma or equivalency and two (2) years of secretarial/clerical experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Preference will be given to applicants with:
- 1 or more years of experience working in a law firm, courthouse, or legal department in a legal support role.
