The essential function of the position within the organization is to provide case management for participants in the Duval and Clay County Veterans Treatment Court. This position works under the general supervision of the Director of Problem-Solving Courts.
EXAMPLES OF WORK
- Serves as Case Manager for the Veterans Treatment Court Program in Duval and Clay County.
- Conducts eligibility screenings for potential new participants (Active Duty).
- Conducts new participant intake and orientation.
- Enters new participant data into the Problem-Solving Court Case Management System.
- Performs ongoing participant level data entry for all Veterans Treatment Court participants.
- Creates and maintains records on all Veterans Treatment Court participants.
- Prepares pre-court staffing agendas and reports.
- Attends and participates in pre-court staffing and court proceedings for Veterans Treatment Court.
- Advocates for strict sanctions and/or fair incentives for program participants to the judge in open court.
- Coordinates with community-based treatment providers for services needed by program participants.
- Conducts individualized case management/assistance meetings with program participants.
- Performs observed specimen collections following strict collection procedures for all program participants and individuals referred by the general courts.
- Assists public in person, by telephone, and via correspondence, providing case status information and referrals to appropriate community agencies.
- Compiles data for quarterly and annual performance reports assigned.
- Participates with local community councils and work groups to exchange information, solve problems, and coordinate services.
- Develops and maintains working relationships with Veterans Treatment Court team members and their agency leaders.
- Attends technical or professional workshops or seminars to improve professional skills.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Problem-Solving Court Administrative Judge, Trial Court Administrator, and/or Director of Problem-Solving Courts.

Education and Experience Guidelines
Bachelor’s Degree and two years of professional related experience. Additional relevant experience may substitute for the recommended educational level on a year-for-year basis.
Special comments
The Florida State Courts System is a criminal justice agency. The successful applicant will be fingerprinted to conduct a criminal history record check. Employment in this position is contingent upon a satisfactory criminal background check.
According to section 110.205(2)(c), Florida Statutes, positions with the Florida State Courts System (judicial branch) are not covered under the Career Service System. All employees of the Florida State Courts System are at-will employees and serve at the pleasure of the appointing authority and do not attain tenure rights.
