The Division of Habitat & Species Conservation is comprised of six Sections and two offices. This position works within the [insert name of Section/Office (Section or Office acronym)] of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s Division of Habitat and Species Conservation.
Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or GED and three years of secretarial or clerical work experience.
Preferred Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field is preferred.
Description of Duties: This position provides administrative, secretarial, and clerical support to the Division of Habitat and Species Conservation staff in District One of the Northeast Region (includes staff from Three Lakes WMA, Triple N/Bull Creek WMA, and T.M. Goodwin WMA).
Responsibilities include maintaining and organizing both paper and electronic files, assisting with purchasing and ordering supplies, budget tracking, mailing, managing routine office equipment and services (i.e. alarm, pest control, fire extinguisher), obtaining quotes for services, compiling, reviewing and processing equipment tracking forms, coordinating staff training, notary public, and complying with purchasing card policy and procedure implementation.
Serves as receptionist, greeting and responding to the public as appropriate. Must be able to answer calls from, and provide assistance to, the public in a courteous, respectful and positive manner. Must be well organized, punctual and display a cooperative and professional attitude. Must be able to work with other administrative support staff within the Northeast Region to coordinate and complete invoice processing procedures in a timely manner. Must be able to identify and track items that require office response, and sort and route to the appropriate personnel. Must be familiar with and able to utilize computer software and Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Outlook, Excel and Power Point), telecommunications equipment, and other basic office machines. Must be able to maintain office and common area in a neat and clean condition. Must be able and willing to day travel to the other offices within the Region to assist staff with administrative functions as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Knowledge of the rules of grammar and punctuation;
- Knowledge of office procedures and practices;
- Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication;
- Knowledge of basic Copier, Computer, Scanner and Printer operation;

Requirements – Must have a valid Florida driver license and be able to use FWC vehicles to travel to the other two offices within the District and Region as needed.
Knowledge of MyFloridaMarketPlace, the Purchasing Card system, and purchasing standards preferred.
